The fuel is denatured ethilic alcohol (Ethanol), which doesn't have an unpleasent smell, because of it's vegetal origin.

This fuel comes from the fermentation of vegetables and fruits, like maize, sugar beet etc. 

As the fuel is not a petroleum derivate, it is not toxic for nature or man.
